Founder Monica Montag reflects on her evolving role at BeWell

I’m writing to share some exciting news about my evolving role at BeWell.

Thirty years ago, before the word Holistic was in everyday use and before so many people understood the power of nutrition in their health, I opened BeWell Associates. I started the practice in my home to be present when my daughter was home from school. I included “Associates” in the name because I knew I wanted to work as part of a team someday.

The next step was moving out of the home office into a commercial space at 1001 University Drive (some of you remember my basement office there). Finally, in 2005, I moved to the Parkway Office building complex and grew enough to require another clinician. Angie Redmond, a former client, joined me in 2010, and we never looked back. She left to pursue other interests in 2018, and since then, I have been seeking the right mix of practitioners to represent The BeWell Way.

I have finally found that combination in Laura Menefee and Caitlin Maher. They bring fresh, dynamic energy and the latest training based on current research and techniques in Clinical Nutrition to bring you the level of care that people have come to expect from BeWell. And they are a joy to work with!

Now my vision of a Team Approach to each client, with all clinical work overseen by me, is finally coming to fruition. I discuss every client, test result, and recommendation with that person’s practitioner so that each client gets the benefit of my decades of experience and the cutting-edge knowledge of the practitioner. And all of us constantly continue our education together at seminars and workshops to keep up with our dynamic field.

Part of the evolution of the practice and my role as Mentor and Consulting Nutritionist means that I will not be doing direct client sessions going forward. I write this with a mixture of sadness and excitement because, while I will miss working directly with clients, I’m deeply energized by this transition and I know you’ll feel the vibrancy in our team approach to your care.

I’ll work carefully with Laura and Caitlin on each client transfer. And I’ll still be speaking with new, potential clients in our Free 15-Minute Phone Consultations to ensure they understand how we can help them and are matched with the right practitioner. If you are a current client of mine, and you’d like to discuss which clinician is right for you going forward, please feel free to schedule a Free 15-Minute Consultation to discuss it.

Thank you for continuing to be part of the valued BeWell community.

Take good care,
