Caitlin Maher

Caitlin is our Office Manager and is one of the people who you talk to when you call the office. She is passionate about wellness and helping others. She is currently enrolled in a M.S. of Nutrition and Integrative Health program at Maryland University of Integrative Heath (MUIH) and hopes to one day see cleints of her own.

Prior to working at BeWell she was Practice Manager at a local veterinarian’s office and before that worked at Pennsylvania State University helping support international students via programming and counseling. Through her work in the international office she cultivated an appreciation for other cultures and a holistic approach to life. While at Penn State she was Chair of the Diversity Committee which provided staff members with training information on how to better serve diverse populations on campus. As part of this she is a trained LGBTQ Ally.

She continues to volunteer at Global Connections—a nonprofit organization whose goal is to bridge the gap between the State College community and the international population at Penn State. She helped organize events such as Women’s International Night, International Children’s Festival and International Potluck lunches. These valuable experiences taught her how to cook popular worldwide cuisine.

When not working or cuddling her pets, she is enjoying the outdoors and running. She has completed two full marathons and several half marathons. Running has helped teach her the value of proper nutritional fuel and the power of the mind-body connection.

She graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in English. Her concentration was on the Sociology of Medicine and her thesis research was centered on identity formation in individuals with eating disorders. While at college, she co-founded a student organization entitled Women of Worth (or W.O.W.) which helped to empower female students on campus and was a member of the Active Minds club which worked to eliminate stigmas surrounding mental health.
