I love eating out! However, it can be a challenge for people who have food allergies. I’d like to share my list of favorites, both gluten and dairy free, and where to get them.

*Please remember that if you have Celiac Disease or severe allergic reactions, talk with your waiter. I do not generally worry about cross-contamination myself, but you may need to.

Kamrai Thai and Sushi

  • Panang Curry with Shrimp
  • Crispy Ginger Duck
  • Pad Ped

Gigi’s Southern Table

  • Calamari
  • Burger (or any of their sandwiches) on a gluten-free bun
  • Filet mignon with veggies

Fuji & Jade Garden

I typically order off the Szechwan menu because I like things spicy!! They have gluten-free soy sauce available, so be sure to ask for gluten-free.

  • Diced Chicken with Chili and Pepper (It has a different name on their new menu)
  • Sauteed Beef with Cumin
  • Pork and Tofu in a Sherry Wine Sauce

The Field

Most of their burgers are awesome!  They have gluten-free buns or you can have your burger on tomato slices or lettuce. They have hand-cut fries which are also really tasty (just avoid the cheesy toppings).

Olde New York

You can get any of their sandwiches on gluten-free bread! Ask the waiter to see an allergen menu.  I’ve always had a good experience here. I believe their French fries contain gluten, so be sure to ask.

Rey Azteca

  • Pollo Adobe (no cheese/no sour cream)
  • Pork Carnitas
  • Chips & Salsa
  • If you choose tacos, go with corn tortillas

Mexican Plaza

They are relatively new but have really great food!  The same rules as above, no cheese or sour cream and corn instead of flour tortillas. They have some really great dinners that are just meat over a bed of rice.

Mad Mex

They offer Daiya dairy-free cheese!! They also offer all of their burritos in a bowl, so you don’t have to miss out on one of their signature dishes.
