How Can I Avoid Colds and Flu?

This time of year we often get calls from people who feel they are constantly on the verge of getting sick, or often actually down with strep throat, colds, flu, cold sores, and the like. Does that sound like you?

Even if it’s been a while since you had a cold or flu, I’ll bet you remember the misery like it was yesterday!

Before I share some information on immune boosters that will keep you healthier this winter, let’s take a look at the mind-body perspective on colds and flu…

Since we here at BeWell Associates consider the mind as well as the body, we know it’s important to recognize that our belief system also contributes to chronic immune problems.  Especially with recurrent colds and flu, our body is often telling us that we are over-committed and in need of slowing down, reducing our load and the mental confusion and disorder that go along with it.

Rethink that bad cold as an enforced rest.  Then change your lifestyle to include what your body is asking for a regular basis. You won’t need to get sick to create the downtime you need.

Louis Hay, pioneer in mind-body medicine suggests this affirmation for overcoming chronic colds: “I allow my mind to relax and be at peace.  Clarity and harmony are within me and around me.”

One of my secrets to avoid that ghastly state is to take Vita D regularly…and to make sure that my levels are between 70-90ng/ml rather than just barely in what is considered normal (over 30ng/ml).  That is a very easy strategy for children and adults alike.  Read more about vitamin D here.

In addition to Vita D, these two products are a big help in staying healthy all winter.  They can be ordered from our online store:  BioImmunozyme and Immunitone Plus.  For either one, take 1-2/day as needed for prevention or 2-6/day to reduce an emerging immune problem.
